Nisha Coleman was born in a swamp near Huntsville, Ontario.
She studied music and psychology at McGill and Wilfrid Laurier University. Once school was out of the way, she went to live in Paris as a street violinist. Her memoir about these years, Busker: Stories from the Streets of Paris, was published by Radiant Press in 2015.
Nisha has performed for events such as The Moth, Yarn, Confabulation, Risk!, Raconteurs, Ladyfest, and ZooFest and her work has been featured on WireTap, PBS, MAtv, Risk!, The Moth and No More Radio. She is a co-producer for Enfabulation one of Montreal’s French storytelling series, and a regular performer at storytelling events in Montreal and Toronto. She has performed her multiple award winning solo show, Self-Exile, in theatres in Canada and the US.
